Practical, waterproof flooring
Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring
Waterproof, hard-wearing and quick to install. The plank is the easy part — the subfloor under it decides whether it stays flat.
What the installation involves
Subfloor preparation
Floors checked for flatness and leveled where needed. Rigid-core plank telegraphs dips and rocks over high spots.
Moisture and underlayment
Correct underlayment and moisture barrier for slab-on-grade construction, which is most of South Florida.
Expansion gaps
Perimeter gaps sized correctly and concealed under trim, so the floor does not peak in summer.
Clean transitions
Thresholds to tile, carpet and exterior doors detailed properly rather than covered with an oversized strip.
Choosing between materials
Where LVP makes sense
Rentals, offices, high-traffic living areas, and anywhere a waterproof floor matters more than natural material.
Where it does not
In a primary bathroom or a feature space, porcelain and stone hold value in a way plank does not. Worth comparing before deciding.
